STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
Empower. Develop. Thrive.
At Centre of Strength and Wellness, our exercise programs are developed based on scientific research and current best practice. Our determination to guide you from pain to performance is joined with the desire to help reduce the chance of injury from training.
By focussing on movement pattern improvement as well as a heightened sense of body awareness, our highly qualified Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Team will help you achieve your exercise goals.
Incorporating an extensive understanding of specialised training techniques combined with degrees at a Master’s level, we plan and develop unique programs that maximise positive outcomes. With the support and collaboration of our other health practitioners, the S&C Team ensures all measures are taken to prevent injury and support improved performance.
Our programs include:
- Rehabilitation programs developed in partnership with our Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Yoga and Mindfulness coaches
- Injury prevention programs
- Functional strength and power development
- Recovery strategies
- Individualised S&C programs
- Development of speed, agility and endurance
- Mobility programs
Offering training for 1:1, 1:2 or small groups of up to five clients per coach, Centre of Strength and Wellness is the place to be for your holistic approach to health and wellbeing. An assessment with one of our Physiotherapists or Exercise Physiologists and a one on one to guide you through your tailored program is required prior to joining one of our S&C small group sessions.
PHYSIOTHERAPY
Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function in the treatment of health complaints including injury, disease and disorders. Physiotherapists diagnose and manage a broad range of conditions with bones, muscles, cardiovascular system, nerves and other body parts and systems.
During your initial consultation, your physiotherapist will take a detailed review including history and injury profile, identifying treatment required for your presenting condition. A follow up consultation may be required to review progress and implement new exercises or management.
Our physiotherapists may utilise myofascial release, stretching, taping and massage while treating. Home exercises may be prescribed for rehabilitation.
At Centre of Strength and Wellness, our physiotherapists also provide assessments for our Physio Active Movement 1:4 (Clinical Pilates) and Strength and Conditioning small group classes. In these assessments, our team undertakes a comprehensive review including detailed history and injury profile combined with identifying your goals and expectations, creating the foundation for them to best plan your personalised programs in one of these classes.

EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY
Exercise Physiologists are accredited health practitioners who specialise in prescribing exercise as medicine for the management, treatment and prevention of many chronic health concerns.
At Centre of Strength and Wellness, our Exercise Physiologists specialise in musculoskeletal, metabolic and cardiac health. We offer extensive testing for the assessment and management of many common conditions as well as movement competency and running gait analysis for sports based performance. We also work closely with our experienced team of allied health professionals to ensure every client is managed and progressed according to their individual presentation(s) and needs.
An assessment with one of our Exercise Physiologists begins with a discussion around the many aspects of your wellbeing including your priorities and goals, current and previous exercise regimes, movement, current and previous pain/injury status, current workload and nutrition.
Our standard consultation/60 minute review is designed to present your individual program following on from your assessment, or to review your current health status to ensure our team progress your program appropriately.
We have also introduced Team CSW Collab Consults, where you will benefit from two of our CSW team members collaborating with each other via our integrated team approach. For example, when you have progressed through specific rehabilitation expectations, our Exercise Physiologists will work together with our Strength and Conditioning Coaches to ensure a seamless transition into your next stage of recovery.
Our Exercise Physiology Small Group classes are limited to three clients per session, and are designed to prepare for a smooth transition into Strength and Conditioning training. If recommended, these sessions will follow your assessment and one on one follow up, with a specific focus on dynamic posture and movement technique.
COMING SOON… Exercise Physiology Small Group classes for kids! These sessions are specifically designed to help develop appropriate and effective movement patterns, as well and strength and coordination for the younger members of your family. Stay tuned for more details.

NUTRITION
We are what we eat. We’ve all heard that phrase before. But what exactly does it mean? Using evidential nutrition information and dispelling untruths, our Nutrition team help educate and associate you with the facts about how food can determine physical and mental performance, while empowering you on how to vary your nutrition to achieve your goals.
An initial consultation will review a range of topics including your goals, existing conditions (if any), overall wellbeing, lifestyle, eating habits as well as food likes and dislikes. Follow up consultations include a review of established plans, address any challenges and updates.
We recommend a minimum of 1 x Initial Consultation and 2 x Follow Up Consultations, to allow for sufficient time to implement your personalised nutrition program.
INDOOR BOULDERING
If you are looking to mix up your exercise routine, have you ever considered indoor bouldering? Not only is it a great way to build strength and work on your endurance, it’s an exciting sport that can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to advanced climbers.
There are many benefits to having a go on our bouldering wall, including:
1. It can help improve coordination. If you are challenged by physical coordination and body awareness, indoor bouldering has the ability to help you develop a better sense of spatial awareness as well as hand-eye coordination.
2. It challenges your cardiovascular system. Whenever you are working physically hard, the body’s response is to increase ones heart and breathing rate to accommodate the new level of exertion. The more time you spend on the wall, the more you’ll realise how much hard work goes into bouldering.
3. It improves your flexibility. Considering all of the stretching, reaching and climbing that is incorporated with bouldering, it should be no surprise that your flexibility and range of motion can dramatically improve.
4. It is a low impact way to strengthen your body. By utilising almost every muscle in your body, bouldering definitely develops strength in ways you never imagined.
Are you ready to incorporate bouldering into your routine? Contact us below for further information and availability.
